How to Find Us
Cortland is located on Rte 81 between Syracuse and
Binghamton, about an hour north of the Pennsylvania border.
1. If you are coming from the north: take Exit 12 off Rte 81
(Cortland-Homer exit). Follow signs to Rte 11, and turn right onto Rte 11. Go
about a mile until you reach the Cortland Hospital (it's on your right);
continue through the traffic light straight ahead to the next light, which is
Madison St. Turn left onto Madison; we're in the second block on the right.
2. If you're coming from the south, take Exit 11 (Downtown
Cortland exit). Turn left onto Rte 13; at the second light (two very short
blocks) turn right onto Clinton Ave. Go about 3/4 mi to Main St; turn right onto
Main. Madison is the fourth street on your left; turn left onto Madison. We are
several houses down on your left.
3. If you are coming from the west on Rte 13: after you pass
the shopping mall and Walmart store on your right as you come into Cortland, you
will come to a traffic light at a fork. Keep going straight ahead on Rte 281
(also called "West Road"); do not follow Route 13,
which veers off to the right at this fork.
After traveling straight ahead for some distance and crossing Rte 222 (Groton Road), keep going to
the next traffic light after Rte 222, which is Madison St. Turn right onto
Madison; we are 9/10 mile down the road on the right, almost at the end of
Madison where it meets Main St. in downtown Cortland.
We show our building above right; because we are zoned residential we have no signs out front to indicate the business. Ring the front doorbell and we will come to the door.
Other Information
How we do business: We sell by mail order off our web site; but do not have a shop, nor do we always keep regular business hours. We will ship anything anywhere.
We are located at 25 Madison Street, Cortland, New York; you are welcome to come by, but please call ahead to make sure that someone will be there.
This web site is our only catalogue; we regret, we do not have printed catalogues.
Owner: Anne Habermehl. We have been in business since 1979.
We stock most goods listed on this web site. Any exceptions to this, such as items that we do not stock but can order in for you, are noted in the descriptions of those items. Of course, we sometimes run out of things; you need to check with us about availability, just to be sure.
We normally ship promptly after receiving your order, usually within 24 hours. When we close for more than a day, we usually put a note at the top of our home page.
We personally pick up the telephone from late morning to early evening daily unless nobody happens to be available to get it. There is an answering machine on our main telephone line 607-756-7372 twenty-four hours a day. If you leave a message, we get back to you as soon as possible.
Of course, you can always
email us.
We're on cable internet access and we normally check our email constantly when we are
here. Please note that the email is not a totally reliable method of communication; if you
don't get a reply on a week day within 24 hours when we are here, contact us by telephone
or fax to make sure it got through. Also, if you include your mailing address with your
inquiry, when all else fails we can send you a snail-mail note. (Note: if you have a block on incoming email from strangers, and do not remove the block
for us, our reply will not get through to you.)
